Just the other day, we opened the bathroom door and found this. "My baby needed her teeth brushed," Macy said. Along with the rest of her face, body and the bathroom mat. All we could do was laugh. It was too cute. At least we have taught her the importance of brushing someone's teeth:)

Upward Soccer

Marah could not wait to play Upward Soccer this year. Mommy coached last year and she wanted daddy to coach this year. So Rodney is pretty busy coaching baseball and soccer this season, but we are loving it.

Pancakes with Mimi - A tradition

I have said it before and will say it over and over again, there are no better pancakes in the world than Mimi's! Believe me, I have tried and tried, but for some reason mine never come out half as good as hers. I have lots of practicing to do.

This has to be one of the biggest traditions at the Bowerman house in Moulton. From the time Joshua was born up until Macy right now, my kids love to help Mimi make those pancakes. Marah is known to wake up early to see if Mimi is ready to start cooking. Marah is becoming quite a good cook herself. She has always loved helping in the kitchen. She can actually make brownies all by herself.

Usually Mimi and the kids are making pancakes for 9 of us (soon to be 10 - Ryan and Kellie's little one will make #10). The big white platter is always stacked with 4 rows of unending (seems like) pancakes. We never run out! And they are DELICIOUS!

Forest Hills, as a fundraiser, put on a "Princess Breakfast" that was lots of fun for Marah. She loved getting all dressed up and having the girls put on her make-up. She looked beautiful!

I just cannot believe my little man is now 7 and in the 1st grade. I am so very proud him. Joshua wanted Mimi to surprise him with a cake this year so she designed this roller coaster (pretty amazing). Joshua LOVES Six Flags and roller coasters so that was the inspiration for Mimi. She made Macy's ELMO cake too. Man, what would I do without her. Thanks Mimi!

Joshua really didn't want a birthday party this year (even though we did cake and icecream for them both on Macy's birthday). He chose Point Mallard. The kid absolutely loves the water. He sleep in a pool if he could. So, the 5 of us had a wonderful day at Six Flags just for him.

1st Day of School 2010

So here are my 3 babies off to school on their first day of first grade, kindergarten and preschool.

Wow! I can't even believe it. I will feel like somewhat of an empty nester for a little while until the Lord blesses with me a new job. For 7 years, I have been so blessed to stay at home with Joshua, Marah and Macy. This year, Rodney and I have decided for me to go back to work. I am on the job hunt as we speak and hope to have something very soon (we pray).

This teacher we have known for many many years. Her husband was my high school basketball coach and I used to babysit her kids when I was in high-school - LOVE HER!

Rodney and I could not be more pleased with the great group of teachers our kids have this year. Just what we needed with this transition of me going back to work. Our kids will be WELL taken care of - we know this.

So Monday was a big day for me shipping all my kiddos off to school. I needed to go ahead and send Macy, so she could get used to the routine. She marched right in her first day and took off for the toys with her backpack still on. She could have cared less mommy was leaving. She pee-peed in the potty all day at school, but only took a 30 minute nap. The other kids slept for 2 hours. Mrs. LouAnn told me her biggest challenge all day was trying to get Macy to whisper while the other kids were sleeping. Also, a little boy took a toy away from her and she pushed him. So, preschool is going to be interesting and lots of fun I'm sure for Mrs. LouAnn and the other kids in Macy's class.

Joshua said his school day was 'awesome' and Marah loved everything about it!

So the 1st day of school 2010, was a GREAT one!

Birthday Celebrations

So I have been waiting now for over 2 years for him to turn 30. I hit my 30's a few years ago, and I have been the center of many jokes about my age. He cannot say anything for awhile (until the 40's get closer).

Rodney's birthday was on a Monday this year, but we celebrated we my mom, dad and aunt Carolyn for Sunday lunch. He chose Logan's for lunch! Then for dinner that night, Rodney's mom, dad, brother and sister-in-law drove down. They were able to come to church with us and to hear Rodney teach class that night (which he did a wonderful job on). He got to choose the dinner spot as well, so we went to Ricatoni's! Great choice! Following dinner, we all came back to our house for dessert which is always chocolate cake on Rodney's birthday, made by his mom.

On his actual birthday, we went to Rodney's favorite place on earth - SIX FLAGS!

As for the next Saturday, we had a big birthday celebration for Rodney with all of our family in Moulton!

This is what a set-up looks like at the Bowerman house. There is always a feast regardless of how many people are there. The fish fryer was going, french fries and hush puppies! Delicious!

And to top the weekend off, Marah lost her 2nd tooth on the bottom. Wow! My kids are growing up too fast.

Marah never got her first haircut until she was 3, but I decided Macy needed hers trimmed up. She had some really long pieces and some short pieces, so we had it evened up. Mom went with me and held her while I was able to snap some pictures.

We love the outdoors! Every summer we are able to head down to the lake where Mimi and Pappy park their camper for weeks at a time. This was our first time to go this summer and the kids were definitely missing it.

The kids load up their bikes to ride around the campsite circle and Mimi and Pappy always have great food on the grill or in the smoker. Macy rode on the inner tube for the first time (with Rodney of course) and she loved it. The kids fished a little bit with Pappy and we all just sat around enjoying each other's company.

Mimi is always prepared with colors/coloring books, stickers and bubbles for the little one.

And this would be one of my most favorite parts -the SMORES! The kids love to make them, but they don't care much for eating them. So somehow mommy ends up eating a bunch:)

We are so thankful for Mimi and Pappy and their camper for all the fun memories we make every year!

Fishing at the Young's House!

Mom and dad are always trying to come up with things to do when they have all the grandkids home. Because most of the time when they have the Busby kids or the Morrow kids, they always have the Bowerman kids as well. So this time, they decided to take 6 grandkids fishing :)

My dad loves to fish! We grew up fishing at both of my grandaddy's ponds and loved every minute of it. So my dad has been wanting to take our kids (the whole crew) fishing for awhile now. Some of my mom and dad's best friends (Brant and Judy Young) have a beautiful pond behind their home and were kind enough to let mom and dad bring the kids over to fish in their pond.

My dad bought 5 cane poles for the occasion - which ended up being a great choice. Just throw it in and pull it out of the water. Rodney got hooked first thing while we were there and worms ended up in faces here and there. But other than that, all of us had a blast.

I think Carter might have caught the biggest one! The brim were biting like crazy. Sometimes the boys even caught them without a worm.

It was a perfect night for fishing and the perfect place! The fish were the perfect size for the kids to hold them and throw them back in.

A big "THANK YOU" to Judy, Brant and Lauren and to mom and dad! We had a blast!

Marah decided months and months ago she wanted to grow her hair out and give it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. This program is a lot like Locks of Love. They make wigs from donated hair. It takes about 8 pieces from different people to actually make a wig. We decided to go with Pantene because 8 inches was required instead of the 10 inches for Locks of Love. It is kind of hard to believe I snapped this picture of the 3 of them without Biscuit. They have been inseparable since we brought him home. We borrowed my dad's truck to go to Moulton to visit Pappy for Father's Day - the truck was to bring back the other 3 puppies. Rodney's dad made a deal with me. He told me he would pay me to sell the other 3 puppies, so we loaded them up and have 4 puppies in our backyard. We will see how it goes:) The kids are loving it of course and Biscuit doesn't even want to come in the house anymore - he would rather play with his brothers and sister.

We were able to go to church in Moulton last night and Joshua and Marah asked to ride in the back of the truck from church to Mimi and Pappy's house (not far). So we said sure. I remember those days at my grandparents getting to ride in the back of the truck. So we told them to hold on and off we went. After we pulled up at their house, I had to snap a picture of them in the back of the truck. Don't worry, Macy was not riding in the back and Joshua and Marah rode sitting down:)

So here he is...our newest addition Biscuit!

Rodney and I have been putting off and putting off the kids idea of wanting a dog. Neither one of us were ready for the responsibiliy that went along with caring for a dog, but we decided a few weeks ago it was time. We drove to Moulton and picked him up yesterday. Rodney's mom and dad have Biscuit's mom (Sweet Pea) and have been taking care of the 9 puppies since they have been born. Biscuit is a Basset Hound - the type of dog with the long ears:) They seem pretty low maintenance - we hoped - but what dog is low maintenance. Any type of dog requires attention. And our kids are sure giving it some attention. They have fallen in love!

He will be an OUTSIDE dog and will be allowed inside at times. He needs to be potty trained NOW for those times he will be allowed inside.

Macy loves him! But this picture was from 2 weeks ago. He has grown so much that she can barely pick him up (which is a very good thing). Hopefully Biscuit will survive all the things Macy is doing to her.

So we decided to move Macy to a toddler bed and she LOVES it! We had a rough first night with her crying at the gate, but since then she has done great. We say 'bed time' and she takes off for her bed. It is something she can call her own since big brother and big sister have their own big beds.

I found the exact same bedding that Marah has on her bed in the toddler size so we could not resist. It was a nice transition for her.

Seems like yesterday I had the sprinkler running for Joshua and Marah to run around in and now it's on for the little one. She loves the water! All 3 of them have loved the water. I just pull out a chair and sit there watching all 3 of them run and play together. How blessed we are!

This was a character parade at school. The kids were able to choose a character from one of their favorite books and dress up as that character. All the characters from each grade participated in a parade for all of the teachers and other students. Joshua was not very excited about it and had planned to not dress up. But his buddy Trey talked him into it. Let's see if you can tell who he is...

Planting - Day one

It is so much fun learning about flowers and vegetables - planting and taking care of them. We have already made mistakes, but we are learning. The kids have really enjoyed being a part of it. My dad brought over some tomato plants and tilled up an area on the side of our house for us to grow some tomatoes and other veggies. If we had the space, I would have a huge garden because we love vegetables so much.

I also bought some seeds and starter cups for the kids to plant their own. They chose watermelons, cantaloupes, and I also bought some squash, peppers and more tomatoes. So I let them have at it.

We are hoping for a little bit of good luck with these starters.

We continued our Spring Break in Huntsville - our second home. Where we love to go because of all my wonderful nieces and nephews - sister, brother, and 2 sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. When we go to Huntsville we have to make our rounds and we love every minute of it:)

We always try to take pictures of the 9 kids together - which is so hard, but I think Brooke got a good shot of them. I need a full week with Brooke, with NO kids for her to teach me how to use a camera like she does. I know it would take a lot longer than a week, because she has been studying photography on her own for years. I think all her time is paying off because she is AWESOME!

Our Spring Break - the Zoo

Spring Break always involves a trip to the zoo, or at least we try to make it there. Rodney and I enjoy the zoo as much as the kids do. This year we went to the Birmingham Zoo.

So I went ahead and blew up our little pool from last year because it has been so hot. Macy was so excited. The child loves her bath time, so much that she has been getting in trouble for wanting to lay on her back in the tub (she could drown doing this). We have taken her to the Y to swim and she hates for us to hold onto her in any way. She has NO FEAR. She keeps on saying "swim swim" like she can do it all by herself. Already getting nervous about taking all the kids to the pool this summer. Because she is going to be all over the place wanting to jump in as soon as we get in the pool gate.

So the pool has about had it. The pink layer is having a hard time staying inflated - must be a hole:)

The Nationals and the Tigers

So this year, Joshua and Marah are both playing baseball. Marah is playing on the 5 & 6 year old machine pitch - the Nationals and Joshua is playing on 7 & 8 year old machine pitch - the Detroit Tigers. Rodney is head coach for Joshua's team and one of the assistant coaches for Marah's team. So we are very busy with games and practices, but we absolutely LOVE it. This is our favorite sport with the kids. Being at the ballfields is something we look forward to every week (even though it can be very exhausting).

This past Saturday, Marah got a big hit which was huge for her. This is her first time to play the machine pitch and she is doing a super job. She did want to play softball (because she liked the girls uniforms better), but in her age group, not enough girls signed up to play. So she gets to play with the boys - which is fine with her. It can only make her better.

Macy at the ballfield! Let's just say, she is everywhere and into everything. So I just have to keep telling myself, it won't be like this for long and try to enjoy all the running around with her.

Joshua loves baseball. He skipped out on soccer in the fall to play fall baseball. He has played on the 5 & 6 year old team the past couple of years, so we decided to move him up this year with the older boys. He played up this past fall and did a great job.

Rodney would tell you right now, that coaching baseball for the kids is one of the best things he has ever done in his life. He is so good at it! I think he missed his calling in life:) He has a special gift in teaching sports to the kids. I love watching him.

EASTER - part 3 (the finale)

The night before Easter Sunday, Joshua started running a fever and complaining of his throat hurting. Come to find out - he had strep again. Poor guy:) But he braved through the day Saturday with all the family and Sunday too. I had all of our clothes laid out for Sunday morning knowing he would probably not be able to go, but wanted to be prepared in case. He was running 102 that morning. But my little man was sweet enough to put on his Easter clothes and make it through a few pics before daddy and the girls left for church. By the time they got home from church, the motrin had kicked in and he was feeling good. So we headed to Moulton for the afternoon. We were all looking forward to the delicious meal Mimi was preparing (awesome cook) and the kids couldn't wait to get their second Easter basket (from Mimi and Pappy).

Is this what is coming next? We don't know yet. We have less than 30 days to decide if we are ready for a puppy from the next litter. Our kids have been begging for a dog, but mommy and daddy just don't know if we are ready for that yet. Pray for us:)

EASTER - part two

Ben and Anna invited all the family over for dinner and an egg hunt the Saturday before Easter Sunday (thank you Ben and Anna). My kids could not wait to see all their cousins:) And I couldn't wait to see everyone either. When Rodney and I moved here (to Florence), it didn't seem like being an hour away from Huntsville would be that far. But throw in our busy schedules and just life in general and we haven't made it there half as much as we thought we would. So when we are able to get together, it is a BIG DEAL and we LOVE it!

EASTER - part one

The kids had a great time at our church egg hunt - even though Macy didn't even find any eggs. We had so many kids there this year. Joshua was kind enough to throw a couple of his eggs back on the ground for her to pick up.

The girls and I were able to go hide eggs for Joshua's class at school. We had a lot of fun watching him and the girls loved being able to sit next to Joshua and eat a snack:)

This little one right here wakes up ready to go outside! She is full of energy and ready to go every morning! She is our little bundle of joy right now. I have to remind myself when she throws a fit at the grocery store or hits me in the face or grabs a drink of Joshua and Marah's and pours it in the floor - that she is it! Our last little one:( And she is all worth it!

Do you notice anything different? She has on her first pair of flip-flops. Still trying to get use to them. Joshua started wearing them at 18 months - he loved them. So we shall see.

These kids (along with momma and daddy) LOVE the outdoors:) As soon as the temperatures start rising we are all outside.

The kids and I took a trip to Miami Ice earlier this week for a sno cone (or whatever you call it these days). Macy just loves having her own cup of ice. Joshua tried Alvin and the Chipmunks and Marah got a Hannah Montana. I got the Dreamsicle with cream:) The kids may have even had more fun playing in the sand. We had a great time. We will definitely be there a lot this summer!

We have finally found the perfect brush for Marah's hair. If you are looking for a brush that gets out tangles very easily, this is the brush you need.

My sister-in-law has been using this brush on her kids' hair for awhile now. After I saw how easily it brushed their hair out, we had to have one.

A few weeks ago, Mrs. Greenhaw (Joshua's kindergarten teacher) asked the students to write about what they would buy with $100. This just melted my heart when I saw it. He wanted to buy his daddy a pair of tennis shoes with the $100. His teacher told me that afternoon he was the only one in class that wanted to buy a gift for someone else. How precious. Can't help but brag a little bit on that one. This is my child who always tells me, "mommy don't spend your money on me", or "you get me whatever you want me to have." He is my helper and the one always wanting to help others. My sweet little man!

He knew daddy had been wanting a new pair of turf shoes for coaching his baseball team. Those were the tennis shoes he was talking about.

It reads, "I would give my dad some new tennis (tine) shoes (shz)."

Marah was so excited about her cake. She designed it herself. I have said before how blessed I am to have a mother-in-law that makes ALL my kids birthday cakes. She lets them choose whatever they would like and she makes it. Marah told Mimi 'exactly' what she wanted and Mimi did just that. It was beautiful and delicious (thank you Mimi).

Marah's Birthday Tea Party (Part Two)

Marah wanted to have a Tea Party for her 5th birthday, so I started looking to see what little girl's do at tea parties (because I really didn't know). It seemed fairly easy to pull off, because all Marah was concerned about was dressing up. She wanted all the girls to wear princess dresses. They were adorable - all of them.

Mom let us use my grandmother's dishes from her china cabinet. They were perfect.

Aunt Kellie gave the girls some lessons on "how to be a princess".

Marah decided a LONG time ago exactly how her birthday party would go. She knew exactly who she wanted to spend the night and exactly how her birthday cake would look. Friday night included her 5 best friends coming over, eating pizza, birthday cake, lots of playing house, a little guitar hero, a CareBear movie and LOTS of talking before bedtime. They all had a blast. I did too just watching them and Macy getting right in there with all the big girls. I only wish I would have taken a picture of what the playroom looked like before then after.

Surprise Snow Day of 2010

Ooh, I just love unexpected snow days! Boy was this a surprise! The first thing I do every morning when I wake up is open our blinds in the living room, then go start my coffee. I opened the blinds to huge snowflakes tumbling down and the street was already covered. It looked like it was sticking and sure enough it was. Then immediately I turned on the tv to see if Florence City was delayed - of course not - we are always the last to go. I had already talked to my Aunt Carolyn (who is a teacher at FH where Joshua goes to school), and she told me to NOT get out. So we didn't.

We got out and PLAYED!

My dad measured 4 inches at his house. Amazing! 4 inches and the weather people had no clue. It goes to show, they really just don't know what will happen.

First Snow of the New Year

So, we have been waiting on this weather to come all week. God, thank you for the snow (like Joshua said in his prayer). We were hoping for a little more than we got, but we will take it. We had a blast anyways. School was called off for Thursday and Friday. We headed out to nana's house on Thursday to play around on the golf course. Since the grass always stays lower there, the ground seemed to have a little more snow than what was at our house.

The kids could not wait to throw some snowballs. Many were thrown, but I happened to catch Joshua throwing this one at Marah.

Macy loved it too!

The kids were able to play a little bit today as well. The snow was so dry. They could sit in it and their pants would still be dry. So, no snowballs today. It would not stick together.

Nashville Trip

I am finally blogging about our trip to Nashville and cheating a little bit by using some of Brooke's pictures and trying to use some of Amy's (but for some reason I couldn't figure out how to enlarge Amy's - you will be able to tell, because they are the small ones you can barely see).

We had such a wonderful time! Thank you mom and dad for such a memorable trip! We will remember it always.

This right here seems to be all that Joshua is consumed with these days! Football! He always has one in his hands and he is constantly wanting someone to throw with him. For Christmas this year, all he wants is the "real" football pads. For mommy, I am loving this because football is my absolute favorite, but for daddy - he was kind of hoping Joshua would get interested a little later on. Rodney said before we even had kids, his son would wait until Jr. High to play football. Simply for the reason of not wanting him to get burnt out, but I cannot say that we will be waiting until Jr. High. Who knows. Rodney should have been a coach because he is so GOOD at teaching the kids how to play something. This is where all of his patience comes in. I love watching him teach the kids! He is just a big kid himself.

MACY - POO

My little Macy-poo! She is growing up! Almost 15 months old now. Where has the time gone. It sure does seem to fly. Before we know it, she will be potty-trained and riding bikes. Can't she stay little forever? Can't all of them. I joke with Joshua and Marah all the time, how I want them to stay little forever. But God has other plans for them. Rodney and I have been so blessed to have 3 children and to raise these little munchkins like God would want us to. We both were blessed with amazing families!

With Thanksgiving being right around the corner, my blessings seem to be on my mind a lot lately.

Rodney gave me a new little handheld digital camera for my birthday and I was so proud of the pictures I took with it. Not as good as Brooke, but it will do fine for now.

I was finally able to post about Joshua and Marah's trip to the Pumpkin Patch too. They are in the October folder.

I love these kiddos! Are they not adorable? It is still hard to get all 9 looking at the same time, but every few months helps. This one in particular turned out really well I thought. It was taken on the front porch of my grandmother's home.

We have some fun times a coming.

My mom has hit a huge milestone in her life. She has been working so hard for months losing pound after pound and she has now lost 100 pounds!!!!! Amazing! She looks amazing. I am so very very proud of her. My dad told her a couple of months ago that she deserved to do almost anything she wanted to do for losing all the weight. So she decided to take us all to Nashville during Christmas time (our most favorite time of the year). We are staying at the Opryland Hotel for 2 nights and each family gets their own room. Let's just say we have all bunked up in the past and to have our own rooms is a "big" deal. Not that we don't like bunking up (at least the girls that is), but our family has grown a lot over the past few years. This trip is more of a prize for us we feel like than for mom, but if you know her, she wouldn't have it any other way. She is always looking for ways to make memories and for ways to get us all together. We leave in 33 days and we are on the countdown. Several things are on the itinerary already: the Rockettes, Ice-the Charlie Brown Special, Louise Mandrell's Christmas Dinner & Show, the Holiday Kids Train, the Gingerbread Corner and more to come I'm sure. My mom is a planner. She loves to have our day filled with all kinds of fun things to do. The best part of all of this is that we will all be together as a family!

Joshua could not wait until his Pumpkin Patch Day. It was rained out then rescheduled. So, my friend Courtney was able to keep Marah for me. So, I had to do what the teachers had said "not" to do - bring a sibling. Little Macy had no where to go, but to the Pumpkin Patch with us. Luckily Joshua has a super cool teacher who said it was no problem at all. Macy was super that day, so I was very thankful for that.

Any of you know my middle child "Marah", will also know that she loves school. This child loves waking up in the morning just so she can go to school. She is also the one that leaves out no details when telling her stories of days at school (like her daddy in this sense). Since she did not go to preschool last year, this was her first little field trip to the Pumpkin Patch and she had so much fun (Macy and I did too)!

It's October!

The Bowerman's are finally well! It has been a long 6 weeks with all 3 of my kids having the swine flu. Joshua got pneumonia and the girls both got sinus infections following the flu. And on top of all this, I got the swine flu myself , then pneumonia. Crazy stuff. We have never been this sick - ever. At least Rodney has found a way to stay pretty healthy throughout all of this. Hope he doesn't get it next week. Oink Oink!

Staying in is not something I enjoy doing every day of the week. So as soon as my breathing was back to normal from the pneumonia, we headed to St.Florian where we get our pumpkins. Joshua and Marah both picked out a small one to paint (Macy too) and we picked out a big one to carve. The rain made everything a little messy, but we still had a good time picking out our pumpkins.

For a little Halloween preview this year, we will be having a fireman and 2 white kitty cats!

This is our nine! The 9 kids that is on the Morrow side of the family. We are still waiting for the twins to come along on the Bowerman side (because whenever Ryan & Kellie decide it is time, they WILL have 2 at one time - Kellie's mom is a twin and her dad is a twin). So any time Kellie!

On the Morrow side, to say we love some Auburn football, may be an understatement. My dad was an Auburn grad so we grew up going to ballgames and walking to Toomer's Corner for lemonade. So now to carry on the tradition, Brooke, Ben and I all graduated from Auburn and all had 3 kids. All Auburn kids, except for Noah who has been saying he likes Alabama these days. I think he is being brainwashed by another family member - hint hint. Look at him in the 1st picture. Of course, they all don't look very excited. Trying to get 9 kids to smile or even look at the same time is crazy.

We love getting together on Saturdays to sport our Auburn wear. The kids were able to hold their hands up for "touchdown Auburn" before they were 1. We have been blessed over the years with some great Auburn memories.

Let me just say, this little girl was more than ready to start school. She stayed at home with me last year when Macy was born. So she missed out on school. She could not wait for her first day this year. She picked out her clothes and folded everything nice and neat at the end of her bed for morning. She woke right up, put her clothes on and packed her own lunch box. She was READY to go!

The night before we put rollers in her hair. She has been begging for some for awhile now, so I thought I would give them a try. Marah has a thick head of hair and we have been trying to grow it out, so that requires even more maintenance. This hair is a mess after a good night's sleep on it. We have tried every trick in the book for trying to keep it as untangled as possible by morning, but we have lots of trouble!

I'm not quite sure if she is a high maintenance kind of girl, because she can get down and dirty with the best of them. She loves sports and loves playing with her brother and her boy cousins (Carter is her "bud"). I like the half and half thing. She is 50/50 now. She loves dressing up and doing the princess thing as well. We will see in years to come I suppose. I am kind of "go basketball player", but she may be "cheerleader!" Whichever she chooses will be great with me:) I guess - JK!

Mommy will miss her little helper at home, but I know she is probably helping her teacher as much as she can.

First Day of Kindergarten 2009

My precious little man! He was more excited about his new tennis shoes than anything. He popped right out of bed this morning and got ready all by himself.

This is his second first day of Kindergarten, so this time is a little more real for me. Rodney and I chose to send him on last year with the intentions to send him twice. He has an August 20 birthday, so he turned 5 a few weeks after he started last year. He was definitely ready to go last year and we played it by ear. We knew it would be a hard decision in the end and let me just say, I feel like it has been one of the hardest decisions so far. With only harder ones to come in the future, making decisions that will affect your child's future can make you shed lots of tears and lose lots of sleep. We talked to so many people about what they did with their child and how they felt about it. Ultimately it came down to us and only us. After lots of prayer, our decision was based more on the distant future and not the near future. Rodney wishes he would have been held back when he was younger. Many people have said with boys, sometimes they need an extra year for maturity.

Joshua had a great year in Kindergarten last year. He had a super teacher and learned so much. His teacher thought we should send him on to First grade and some others as well. But we chose to let him go again. We weighed all the positives and negatives to both. Repeating Kindergarten would give him an advantage and more confidence. We talked to him many times about staying in Kindergarten again and he seemed to be okay with it. So here we are, the first day of school and I am so scared. Did we make the right decision? Are some of the kids in his class going to say ugly things? Well, all I can do is pray for him. He will be okay. He will make lots of new friends and he still has some really good friends from last year!

And on top of everything, I know he will have a wonderful school year because he has a wonderful teacher!

This one could not have been any better. Let me just say that I am dying inside for a SLR camera! It will probably be a long while since we just had a new air unit put in for $5500. Oh well, till that time comes I will continue to use an old digital camera with a 3 second delay following the snap until the flash. Macy timed this one perfect. She was holding the sweet little smile for the 3 seconds for the camera to catch it. Love it!

10 months old

My baby girl is 10 months old...and this is our last one. Rodney will not let me have another one. We did agree on 3 to begin with, but after this little one was born, I knew we needed a 4th little Bowerman. But we both came to a final agreement in November when the decision was made permanent (poor Rodney)!

Macy and Marah are 3 and a half years apart. We did want them closer, but the Lord thought differently. We had 2 miscarriages over that period of time and then this little girl was born. Great timing I would have to say. The Lord knew what He was doing. Joshua and Marah have been wonderful with helping and taking care of her. They are great at being big brother and big sister. We are so blessed. I could say it over and over a thousand times a day and it still wouldn't touch how blessed I feel. God is good!

My little munchkin is at a very fun age right now. She is a human vacuum cleaner picking up every little speck or crumb on the floor and putting it straight into her mouth. She crawls very well and will stand up as long as she is holding onto something. She loves the water. She has no choice. We swim so much with the other kids that she has to love it. She screams when we get her out of the bathtub. Joshua calls her "Mace" or "Mace-ums"! The child will eat ANYTHING! We still haven't found a food she doesn't like. She loves to be in motion and constantly moving. She loves to bounce and swing. She loves Baby Neptune. She will no longer wear a bow, she takes it out immediately and it goes into her mouth. She is NOT a good sleeper! Payback from having two that sleep wonderfully! She loves "if you're happy and you know it" and "how much is that doggy in the window" ! She loves puzzle pieces and books. She loves kisses and waving bye bye! She calls her pacifier her "pa pa"! She has 3 almost 4 teeth. She loves to make noises with her mouth. And so many other things!

Well this was the first year in I'm not sure when, that all of the Morrows' were together for Thanksgiving lunch. It was wonderful for all of us to be together on that day. My dad has 2 sisters and 1 brother and all of them were able to come as well as his mother (our grandmother Morrow). Mom had a house full and we all had a great time. Love all of you Morrows!

We were also blessed to have my Aunt Carolyn, Amy, Cortney and Trey there with us that day. They are a close part of our family as well and I am so glad they were able to share it with us too.

Following a wonderful lunch with all of the Morrow Family, Rodney and I were able to head to Moulton for a afternoon with the Bowerman side. We were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with almost the entire Bowerman side as well! Thanksgiving was such a blessed day for all of us.

My dad's National Nursing Home Convention is going on this week in Nashville and to keep my mom busy, she decided to take the girls' with her. Marah and Caley were more than excited about going with Nana and Grampy. They are staying at the Opryland Hotel! I could stay in that hotel and not go anywhere else for the rest of the trip. It is beautiful - especially at Christmas time. They've been swimming and enjoyed the Spaghetti Factory for dinner last night. I know they are having a blast. I couldn't resist taking some pictures before they left. The next girl trip will include Abbie and Bailey! Then Macy - won't that be fun!

It's football season and we all love it! On Saturdays we are all decked out in our Auburn attire and this past weekend we were fortunate enough to head down to Auburn. Mom and Dad kept Macy for us (she did great - thanks mom & dad). The four of us had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery on Friday night and left after buffet breakfast.

The game was miserably hot, but we were still having a blast. I think we spent close to $30 just on drinks - it was too hot to eat. Except for the cotton candy that Joshua had to have. You'll see in the pictures later the cotton candy melted before they could eat all of it. Yuck! We were on the 5th row which was great for the kids (thanks Bennie). We got to see the band, cheerleaders, eagle, Aubie and the players all up close. As for watching the game, it was more difficult to see the plays being that close to the field, but once again it was all worth it. The bottom fell out in the fourth quarter and we all got drenched. We left at that point and headed home with a win. The game was not a pretty one, but Rodney and I had so much fun with the kids. We can't wait to take Macy to her first Auburn game!

I may be a little behind in the music world because for the first time ever I heard the song "You Are Mine" by the Acapella group Go FISH. All you mommies out there, if you've never heard this song it will bring tears to your eyes when you hear it. It is the sweetest lullaby song! It has become a favorite in our home. Marah and I turn it on and sing it all during the day. If I knew how to put it on the blog I would (maybe I'll learn soon). You need to check it out.

Friday - August 15th will be the day! Macy's birthday, unless I labor on until Saturday -yikes. Never thought I would make it to the 39th week, but it looks like it's gonna happen. We are so excited. The sad thing is that I could have been induced Thursday, but that is my big shopping day for the kids clothes at Dittos for Kiddos. Pray for me that night, I'm usually there for 3 hours so I know I will be worn out.
Pray for all of us on Friday, for labor and delivery to go smoothly and for Macy to be healthy and ready to meet us.

Joshua's 1st Day of Kindergarten

My little man's first day of Kindergarten! Wow! He was so excited and could not wait. I asked him what he wanted mommy to fix for breakfast and he said pancakes and eggs. Most days he will probably end up with a Nutri-Grain bar or Pop-Tart because their lunch is at 10:15am-whoa! He usually never eats breakfast anyways, unless it's a Saturday morning at Nana's or Mimi's! He loves to eat pancakes at Mimi's and hot dogs & eggs at Nana's. But I wanted him to have a good breakfast for the first day. I went to wake him up and he hopped right out of bed which is very unusual for him. He is a late sleeper and usually lays in bed for awhile before he gets out.
We picked out clothes the night before and he was a little upset about khaki's and a polo shirt, but I told him after today he could wear his basketball shorts and shirts. Mommy wanted a good picture on the first day - so he agreed.
He loves his teacher and his first day went great! Aunt Carolyn was sweet enough to call me around 12:00 and let me know he was doing good - what a relief. She was so sweet to let me know. It makes things easier on me knowing he is right down the hall from her. She loves to give him kisses when she sees him.
He ran to give me a hug when I picked him up so I was really excited about that. Then proceeded to tell me all about his day. It was great! One of the first things he said was, "Mommy, they put dessert on my tray at lunch." It was so cute! Marah couldn't wait to go pick him up. She was asking to 30 minutes after we dropped him off. She had a hard time with him being gone. She was very sad, but soon she will be preoccupied with Macy I'm sure. It was hard that big brother went off to school and she no longer had an all day playmate.
My favorite part of all this transition was bedtime last night. Every night they both choose a book to read and I usually read out of a Bible book a different story every night, then we all say an individual prayer. We read "The Kissing Hand" because of school today. They both cuddled up with me on the rocker and Rodney snapped a picture. It was an extra special night because Joshua was so excited about school.
