Marah's Big Girl Haircut

Marah has been begging for a "real" haircut for awhile now. I've been a little selfish over the past few years and wanted it to grow long and stay long. I finally gave in and decided to let her get it cut. After Cortney's wedding, we took off to Huntsville to let Mrs. Tara cut it (a friend) and also the girl that cut Caley's hair. We all loved it, Marah especially. She was smiling from ear to ear and we immediately had to send Daddy a picture. She wanted her Daddy to see (I thought that was so sweet)! She looks so big. My little girl is growing up.

Beach pictures coming soon!

After the Wedding....

We had a wonderful weekend with Cortney's wedding! She looked amazing and I hope they are having a wonderful time on their honeymoon! I will soon be posting pictures of the festivities.

As for today, I had my doctor's appointment which was not so great. Over the past week I have been having lots of contractions and even on occasion some bleeding. Dr. Frazier checked me and I am dilated to 3, which is too much for this point in my pregnancy. I am 30 weeks (31 on Thursday). Macy needs to stay in there for a good while longer. She does not need to make an early early appearance. The doc told me to take it very very easy. We leave for the beach Saturday - no walks on the beach or any heavy shopping. Pray for us - that we all take it easy and for Macy to hold on for awhile. Pray for Rodney because he will be doing a lot more for the kids and a lot more around the house than normal :) Ha Ha!

Flying home today!

The Miami trip has been great for the both of us. We've enjoyed spending time together and missing exit after exit while still learning our way around. I've had lots of time to relax, although I only put on my swimsuit 1 day (it was yucky and cloudy the other days).

And on that one day at the pool, I was laying on a chair at the time when I thought I heard something behind me...sure enough, it was a huge green iguana, the size of a small cat. Are you kidding me? How crazy is that? I could have been eaten alive! It was pretty funny. Wish I had my camera at the time, but I didn't.

We fly into Huntsville about 10:22pm, so we will not be home until 11:30 or so. My kids are with their Mimi and Pappy and we'll see them tomorrow after the bridesmaids luncheon. We both miss them so much and can't wait to give them hugs and kisses. Mimi sent us a picture of Joshua and Marah yesterday with 2 of Sweet Pea's (mimi & pappy's bassett hound) new puppies. The kids looked so much bigger (even though it's only been 4 days). Knowing how much fun they've had with both of our parents has made our trip even greater. We trust they are being well taken care of and we appreciate both parents for the help.

Flo-town here we come...

KenGriffey Jr. - 600th Homerun

The Marlins game was a blast last night. Rodney and I had so much fun! Even if your not a sports fan, major league baseball games are fun to go to. Luckily for us, we both love sports, so we stayed for the full 9 inning game. My feet were starting to swell by then.

Marlins played the Reds. Rodney and I witnessed history in the making. Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 600th career home run. That was pretty neat! Then they put the Kiss Cam on us for everyone in the stadium to see. So we leaned over and gave a nice conservative kiss for the crowd. We ate hot dogs, nachos, and peanuts! Yum Yum!

We missed out on seeing Josh because I accidentally left my phone in the car. Ginger had called to tell us that Josh had put our names down for a media pass to come down and see him. What a bummer, since my phone was in the car. I felt terrible, but maybe we'll get to see him next game! Thanks to them for trying to get us in, shame on us for leaving our phone in the car.

Anyways....we made it there just fine. I had printed out directions from Mapquest and we found the stadium with no trouble.

It's suppose to rain and thunderstorm today, tomorrow and the next day. It was overcast and cloudy yesterday. Am I gonna get any sun while I'm here? I might not! But that's okay. We are having a wonderful time.

Miami, Florida

A few months ago, Rodney found out he was going to Miami on a business trip and he told me that I could go with him. Yeah - so here we are! We landed in Miami yesterday afternoon about 6:20, got our rental car and found our hotel about 8:30. So, the lady at the rental place gave us directions but somehow we ended up on the other side. Oh well, we made it. We know how men are, wanting to drive forever thinking you'll just come upon your destination out of pure luck. Rodney finally called our hotel to get more directions. I was trying to keep my lips zipped about the whole thing. I was ready to eat! We know nothing about Miami! Only that tonight we will be going to see the Marlins play (even though Josh is still hurt). Hopefully we will make it there in time to see them play at 7:00pm. HA Ha! I'm sure we will. Rodney is much better with directions than I am.

Rodney has meetings for most of the morning, then we'll grab lunch and he has to go back for more meetings. As for me, well I'm just taking it easy. Napping whenever I want to, laying out at the pool, TV and reading the book I brought along. John Rosemond's "Parenting By The Book."

This was a perfect break for Rodney and me to spend some time together. This is probably the longest vacation we've had just the 2 of us. I miss the kids so much. I think I started missing them before we dropped them off at Nana and Grampie's! We are so blessed to have wonderful parents to keep Joshua and Marah while we are gone. My mom and dad (nana & grampie) have them till Wednesday. The kids did not want to miss Vacation Bible School at CrossPoint so I look forward to hearing about their morning in a few hours. Mom and dad are taking them to the fountain tonight at the Marriott. They have the water going and a light show with music late at night. The kids love it. Rodney's parents (Mimi & Pappy) will get them on Wednesday and take them back to the river. Mimi and Pappy's camper stays there through the summer, so we get to go and stay whenever we can. The kids love to ride in the boat, throw rocks in the water and make smores in the fire while they are there.

We fly home late Thursday night into Huntsville and Cortney's bridesmaid luncheon is Friday morning. Mimi will bring the kids back after the luncheon sometime. Of course, that night is the rehearsal dinner then Saturday the wedding. SO this week will be busy. Then we'll have a free week next week and leave next Saturday for the beach.

I will have lots of free time on my hands, so you may catch another post before Thursday (while 2 in one week). We are excited about the game tonight and whatever else we are able to do here in Miami.
